Roman 2D

An opening bid of 2 Diamonds to show a three=suited hand of 17-20HCP. The opener may have a five card mnor suit (4-5-5-0), but most partnerships do not permit an opening with a five card major. Responder bids 2NT to ask opener to bid the short suit. Additional bids are natural and non-forcing (except for ace-asking or other slam probing tools the partnership may agree to use) , unless responder bids opener's short suit, after which opener must bid the cheapest of the three suits.
